Skilled, licensed Professional Abatement Services personnel have been removing all
types of asbestos-containing materials for over 10 years. A majority of our business
has been built on repeat business from satisfied customers. A sampling of projects
includes:
A university undertaking a large renovation project needed a variety of asbestos-containing
materials (ACM) removed on a tight time schedule. Over the course of three months, PAS
completed removal of transite, roof flashing, floor tile, mastic, textured ceiling material,
spray-applied fireproofing, and thermal system insulation. PAS was able to complete the
original scope of work, as well as several change orders, within the time constraints necessary
to keep the overall project moving forward with the owner's schedule needs. PAS was able to
accomplish due to the fact that we maintain in-house abatement personnel and experienced
supervisors.
A school system needed carpet, floor tile and mastic (the black glue which adheres the floor
tile to the substrate) removed. PAS personnel carefully (so as not to break the underlying
floor tile and create a friable removal situation) removed the carpeting and disposed of it
as construction debris. PAS then utilized our infrared heat source to heat the floor tile,
allowing them to become pliable and remain in a non-friable state during removal. PAS then
utilized a very low odor mastic remover to abate the mastic itself. All asbestos-containing
floor tile and mastic was disposed of as non-friable ACM at a DHEC permitted landfill.
A large city hospital needed to have a variety of ACM removed as a result of a large-scale
expansion project. Roofing, floor tile, mastic, and thermal system insulation were all removed
and packaged for proper disposal. All PAS personnel attended training on the hospital's
'above ceiling' work program, geared to reduce the spread of potentially infectious organisms
throughout the hospital environment. PAS has provided abatement service to this hospital and
many others over the years. PAS is on-call to several systems, and is equipped to respond with
the properly trained personnel and proper equipment and materials readily in the event of an
emergency. Many times, service necessitates working in an area which must remain occupied, and
PAS personnel are sensitive to the need to conduct our work with as little intrusion into the
routine of patients and staff as possible.
A bank needed thermal system insulation (pipe TSI) removed from above the ceiling in an office
area utilized as a conference room. PAS personnel worked over the weekend while the bank was
closed in order to accomplish this removal without disruption to the bank's business hours.
Apartment units targeted for replacement had to be abated prior to demolition. PAS was
contracted to remove asbestos-containing spray-applied ceiling material, flooring materials and
duct tape under friable conditions in accordance with NESHAP regulations. PAS notified DHEC,
mobilized personnel, equipment and supplies, and conducted the abatement in accordance with the
owner's time schedule. In addition, PAS has provided service to apartment complexes that have
undergone fire damage; removing asbestos-containing materials prior to renovation.
A manufacturing concern needed an abatement contractor available on an on-going basis to conduct
remediation and re-insulation of thermal system insulation in order to avoid costly down time
while waiting for a contractor. PAS was selected to provide long-term in-house capabilities to
provide this service and has had this contract in place for several years. PAS personnel
provide supervision and worker capabilities for pipe ACM removal and cleaning operations. In
addition to the required OSHA training for asbestos removal operations, PAS personnel are also
trained in plant safety procedures, emergency procedures and operating expectations.
Another large manufacturing facility proceeded with a large roofing replacement project and PAS
was hired by our long-term client to provide the abatement necessary for the old,
asbestos-containing roofing. PAS personnel worked the third shift to remove built-up
roofing and associated flashings to ready the site by 7:00 am for the roofing crew to install
new roofing. As with the above project, PAS personnel attended the manufacturing company's
on-site safety training and orientation to be familiar with the procedural requirements of the
facility. PAS worked over a month period to conduct this work. At the same time, PAS was
contracted by this same client to provide roofing abatement on a large school project. PAS
supplied supervision and worker capability on this project as well each evening. Both projects
were completed in synchronization with the client and owner scheduling needs and target
completion dates.
These are only a small representation of the projects completed by PAS. Should you have a
project for which you need an experienced, qualified abatement contractor, please give us a
call to discuss how we may be of assistance for your particular needs.
