Asbestos may be found in your facility in a number of construction related materials. And,
since the ban of asbestos in items only affected three categories (spray- applied insulation
materials, spray-applied decoration materials and friable pre-molded insulation), you may
still be installing asbestos-containing materials in your facility even today.
The most common building materials containing asbestos include:
* roofing materials (built-up roofing, flashings, curbs, felts, shingles)
* flooring (floor tile, linoleum, and mastics)
* thermal system insulation (piping, duct work, boilers)
* ceiling tile or spray-applied acoustical ceiling
* fireproofing
Professional Abatement Services has over 10 years of experience in removing these materials.
PAS' in-house certified and licensed personnel have carefully and safely removed asbestos
containing materials from a variety of facilities, including industrial, institutional,
commercial, military and residential settings.
Many times, PAS personnel have performed abatement in areas which must remain occupied.
Examples of this include conducting pipe thermal system insulation removal using the glovebag
technique in an active manufacturing production area, or removing TSI in an area where equipment
cannot be shut down (such as a boiler room in a hospital). In each of these cases, proper
planning and scheduling is key to conducting the abatement with minimal disruption to your
facility's on-going operations.
In addition to removal and proper disposal of ACM, PAS can also provide patch and repair
service where feasible as a part of your facility's ongoing Operation and Maintenance program.
Where it is necessary to remove duct or pipe insulation, PAS can re-insulate these to provide
you with a turnkey project.
